The grant program was established under infrastructure legislation.
The U.S. Department of Transportation is receiving applications for funding to build electric vehicle charging infrastructure. President Biden’s administration has a goal to build a national network of 500,000 public EV charging stations under its Charging and Fueling Infrastructure program. The program will offer $2.5 billion over five years to applicants from cities, counties, local governments, and Tribes.
“Extending EV charging infrastructure into traditionally underserved areas will ensure that equitable and widespread EV adoption takes hold,” said Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm. “Ensuring that charging stations are more visible and accessible in our communities addresses the concerns many American drivers have when considering making the switch to electric.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Energy Secretary Granholm as she collaborates with the Transportation Department on the grant program for the EV charging network.
- For wisdom for Secretary Buttigieg as he oversees the awarding of funding under the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure program.
